Milk Panic!

 Ever heard of Sunset Scares?

One of the scares I experienced was last night - when I thought my breastmilk was gone and not enough for my baby.

As a Mama, you may feel that your milk is dropping low but sometimes it can just be due to anxiety. But last night, after about an hour of direct feeding my Baby H, she cried so loud afterwards. We burped her, changed her diaper, gave her pacifier and try rocking her too but nothing works! To the point, we thought she was still hungry and heated the only extra 3 ounce of milk I managed to pumped the day before yesterday and guess what? She actually almost finished the whole bottle. Hence, the one hour feeding before was useless - there were no milk.

The anxious and guilt feeling was intense last night. I talked to my husband but he insist that I was just overthinking it and said if my breastmilk dropping low, we can always use formula as a final solution.

But here's the thing - I don't want to use formula.

If I am able, I would like my Baby H to exclusively drink my milk. Aside from the countless benefits a mother's milk has, one particular reason I choose to bf is - eczema triggering prevention.

Family history of asthma, sinus and eczema from both side of our families had me overthinking this the whole time. I heard so many stories of how some formula can triggers one's eczema. As a Mama, if I can actually prevent it, I would do it.

So back to last night's story, after the bottle feeding, Baby H finally asleep. I went on eating some milk booster cookies I bought from TikTok to prepared myself and hoping for more milk to feed Baby H during her midnight feeding.

Thankfully and Alhamdulillah. After about 2 hours and a half, I felt my tank was about full. And yes, I did wait for that hours long to feel the results myself because I couldn't sleep, knowing my milk flow is dropping and my Baby H would be hungry.

Relief but the worries feeling still haven't left. I decided to eat the cookies and some oats everyday, making it a routine to keep the milk going.

I have tried lots of milk booster food and remedies - and I would love to share it  here soon.
